Quantitative Financial Manager

Permanent Job Location: 1309 W. 15th St., #370, Plano, TX 75075

Duties: Manage the data analysis team to perform advanced statistical analysis and algorithm development. Supervise the development of new value investing strategies, screener features, and exclusive financial indicators to measure companies’ financial health. Proactively develop and build technical skills and business knowledge, coach and mentor junior members on data syndication and calculation. Collaborate with development teams regarding the implementation of features. Analyze customer data needs and make decisions whether they can be added to the GuruFocus platform.

Requirements: Position requires Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or Financial Mathematics and minimum 1 year of work experience in the following: conducting quantitative financial analysis, data syndication system development, data mining, value investing strategies, and financial indicators development and backtesting; Compute valuation ratios, enhance quantitative models using PHP, SQL, and R in Linux with Git; Research, compile and evaluate large sets of data to assess quality and determine suitability for model building; Develop models to detect market trends using machine learning algorithms; Develop/maintain internal models and test/configure vendor solutions to ensure conceptually sound design, proper implementation, and acceptable model performance; Drive continuous improvements in model effectiveness and efficiency.
